Obesity and Insulin Resistance

Obesity and insulin resistance are closely linked and contribute to the onset of type 2 diabetes and other metabolic disorders. This session will focus on the mechanisms that connect obesity and insulin resistance, with an emphasis on the latest research into their pathophysiology. Experts will explore how adipose tissue, inflammation, and insulin signaling contribute to the development of metabolic diseases.

Attendees will also learn about current and emerging therapeutic strategies to treat obesity and improve insulin sensitivity, including pharmacological interventions, lifestyle changes, and surgical options. Discussions will cover the challenges in managing these conditions, particularly in populations with high obesity rates, and how healthcare providers can improve treatment outcomes.
