Metabolic Surgery and Endocrine Outcomes

Metabolic surgery, including bariatric surgery, has been shown to have significant effects on endocrine health, particularly in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes. This session will focus on the impact of metabolic surgery on endocrine function, including improvements in insulin sensitivity, hormonal regulation, and weight loss. Experts will discuss the mechanisms behind these endocrine benefits and the growing body of evidence supporting metabolic surgery as a treatment option for obesity-related endocrine disorders.

The track will also explore the challenges and risks associated with metabolic surgery, including long-term outcomes and complications. Attendees will learn about patient selection criteria, pre- and post-surgical care, and the role of metabolic surgery in a multidisciplinary approach to managing obesity and type 2 diabetes.
