Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease: A Dual Epidemic

Diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) are closely linked, with one condition increasing the risk of the other. This session will focus on the interplay between diabetes and cardiovascular health, exploring the shared risk factors, pathophysiology, and treatment options for patients with both conditions. Experts will discuss the latest research on how managing diabetes can help prevent cardiovascular complications and vice versa.

The track will also address the growing global epidemic of both diabetes and cardiovascular disease, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Attendees will learn about integrated care models that address both diabetes and CVD simultaneously, improving patient outcomes and reducing the healthcare burden.
